"A Very English Tea Party"

This is one of my personal favorite themes for a wedding and is pretty big at the moment. With bondless bunting, pretty stacks of teacups and whimsical wild flowers its a darling look for a romantic wedding day.

I'm completly in LOVE with is dress by Atelier Aimee bridal dress. Sooo romantic, gentle and feminine. This dress makes me want to get married again!(To the same man of course) And worn with the "Butterfly Crown" that I make to order would just look amazing!

This theme lends its self perfectly for pretty favors for your treasured guests and what better way to make them feel extra special and loved than a gorgeous soap or bath bomb! These cute chicken soaps look fabulous arranged on wedding tables in amongst flowers and can also act as name place cards! You choose the colour and the fragrance can mtach the flowers in your bouquet or even your perfume!

Scented teacup and teapot candles are as well as looking gorgeous, can help set a romantic mood when lit in the evening. I add candle glitter so as they burn down they sparkle! A table full of glittering candles just looks magical!

And for the bride or bridesmaids this cute necklace just looks fabulous! It too can be made to match your colour scheme! I love customising!

My Inspiration!

In 2009 a married my lovely husband Jonathan on Bournemouth beach! It was such a great day and I wanted to share some pics with you!

So for the Wedding ceremony we got hitched in the Bournemouth registry office, the weather was warm and the sun was out! I was SOOO tired from decorating the venue the night before, I got back to the hotel at 12.30 at night! It wasnt as I had imagaed, decorating then having a relaxing night, mainly laying in a bath with some champers but even with the help of alot of the guests (THANK YOU) it took much longer than we thought! So sunshine was a BIG bonus, especially having the venue, an old rowing club by the beach!
For the
registry office I wore a £10 dress from Primark! I'd worn it when me and Jon first met and he'd liked it so I thought I was perfect. Simple and 1950's looking so I paired it with a small chiffon cape that I embroidered the words, "I Do" onto. It looked really cute! And I wore a vintage hat with fabric flowers and some Vivienne Westwood shoes! My childhood Disney Cinderella doll had the same pair! (nearly)

Two of my sisters were my bridesmaids, Aimie and Kate, I wanted them to look different and wear what they felt comfortable in. Me and Kate made her "Greek Goddess" dress (the purple one) which she wore with little gold sandles and I made her "Goddess tiara" which had little gold wings on the side! Aimie wore a lovely little pink number and I made her a hair slide that held her hair at the back with fimo flowers and a little gold cupid!

Then for the afternoon with friends and family we had a little blessing service, which our good friend Jon held for us. Looking out at the beach it was beautiful, one friend read out "The owl and the pussy cat" and we blew kasoos to "All you need is love" it was fun!

This was the thrid dress I tried on and I loved it! I felt like Cinderella! It was very different to my morning dress but I thought why not have 2 dresses! My hubby wore a fab grey suit, blue stripped shirt and a black waist coat. I had no idea what he was wearing so it was a very nice supprise and his bow tie was £2 from a joke shop that I bought him that summer! As part of the favors we gave all our guests paper hats that we wore all night!

On top of our cake we had REAL chocolate kittens with our inicals painted on the collors!

We decorated the tables with plastic grass, lots of teacup candles, flowers and other cute bits. I was going for a Alce In Wonderland look.

At the center of our buffet we had this real life size white chocolate skull with our inicals and flowers painted on it! We still have it at home!

Our amazing friends and freinds and family really got into the fun! We also had mustaches and fake tattoo's as favors and they went down really well!

It was a truely magical day and marriage isnt too bad either!
I Hope this gives to a taster as to who I am and what I LOVE doing!
Keep posted for lots more wedding ideads, chat and fun!

New Website and Blog!
Hi Guys! Some of you might know me from I Love Crafty, a super cute website and shop in Bristol. Just before I started I Love Crafty, I got married to a lovely boy called Jon (aarrr) and we didn't want the "normal" white wedding. So me and my very talented sister designed the venue, I made the wedding jewellery for my self and bridesmaids and my husband made food for the buffet. In making my own wedding favors and jewellery they were personal it made our day extra special and so I decided I wanted to do the same for other couples too!
Its taken a while (about 2 years) but my NEW I Love Crafty Weddings site is now up! WHOOP!

www.ilovecraftyweddings.moonfruit.com

Take a look, even if your not getting married I hope you find some inspiration and joy out of what I do!
Also, when I was getting married I found it really hard to find "alternative" (and I don't mean hippy or punk) places to buy a dress, venue and such so as I find interesting and inspirational places and people who offer the personal touch on the way I'll let you guys knowon this blog! I also love hearing whats out there so if you've got something to share please do!
For me, I Love Crafty weddings is ALL about making your wedding day extra personal and magical and I'll do all I can to make it happen!
Hugs and Best wishes!
